Travel Programs with Professor Greenberg

In our view, most group tours and tailor-made opera trips travel too far, too fast. Our programs will travel less but see more and not just see, but understand. Two cities in ten nights will be norm. Three programs will be exceptions: Opera in Sicily, Naples and Rome (late Feb 2013); Wagner's Germany (May 2013) and Verdi's Italy (Oct 2013).
More time will be spent in those places that are visited. Even in the most visited places, there is often a huge amount that is fascinating and beautiful which very few visitors get to see. There will also be time to absorb, contemplate or just relax. Less visited, out-of-the-way places will be a significant feature, sometimes at the expense of sights which are well known but overrun with tourists and the attendant tackiness. "Lesser-known" does not imply less beautiful or interesting. Special access and privileged meetings will also be ingredients of the tours.
I invite you to browse this catalogue of offers, and consider joining Professor Greenberg and me, either in our maiden voyage in March 2012 or later in the season. Please go to our calendar page, register your interest at arte@berlin.com or call +1 (281) 617-2648

Arte Travel & Professor Robert Greenberg are introducing a range of exceptional tours to Europe to celebrate the bicentennial of Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner. The first of these is scheduled to take place in March 2012, with another following in November. The number will rise in subsequent years, with four tours already planned for 2013.
Apart from Professor Robert Greenbergs expert musical narratives and general knowledge -not to mention his unique style- all our tours will be accompanied by leading experts, historians, art historians, writers, academics, curators carefully chosen for their learning, their ability to put their knowledge across and for the agreeableness of their company.
The tours are designed around a theme or bundle of themes, but that will not preclude learning about broader aspects of the music, art, and culture, past and present. We believe that the intellectual stimulation provided by giving primacy to particular subject matter cannot be matched by a general interest travel program.
